- Did being underpowered bother the IBM PC at all when it was introduced
- in 1981? Wasn't even a 8086 16-bitter, no gfx cards, no nuthin'. Only
- that name, I.B.M., made it sell - not it's technical merits.
-
- Which doesn't mean to say you're wrong, of course, but it's not
- always the deciding factor.

-
- True. But it's still more than two times faster for the "A1200 user"
- market AT is aiming at (there is no other market at the moment). I
- believe AT is serving the existing Amiga community, wanting it to
- hang on until the PPC Amiga's appear. Since they cannot convince
- other computer users unless spending HUGE advertising sums,
- this is probably the only choice they have. They might interest
- people who want a low-cost all-round Internet box, but that's about
- it.
-

-
- I don't think PC wannahave users are reachable for AT at the moment.
- Only Amiga users who don't WANT another computer system, and for
- them the "Walker" is indeed a step up.
- Whether that's enough to make them hold on until the PowerAmiga
- appears (I think it will, but nobody can be sure about this) remains
- to be seen.
-
- But let's not forget that, one year ago, there were NO new Amigas.
